Photographer Diego Ferrari, artist and filmmaker Bernard Arce and I will screen our short film 'More Than A Sign' at the APT gallery in London as part of the Urban PhotoFest programme for 2017.

City Stories - a weekend photography and creative writing course with the Royal Institute of British Architecture (RIBA). From 19-21 May 2017 photographer Diego Ferrari and I will teach a weekend course aimed at developing participants' creativity and awareness of architecture.
Acclaimed Turkish novelist Elif Shafak will be at the UEA Spring Literary Festival on 8th March 7-8pm.
My book Ice Diaries: an Antarctic Memoir has won the Grand Prize - the Phyllis and Don Munday Award - at the Banff Mountain Film Festival book competition. The Banff film festival is one of the world's largest showcases for films about mountains, mountaineering, climbing and adventure travel.
I will be chairing a panel at this year's Urban Encounters conference at Goldsmiths College, in conjunction with the Tate Modern.
I'll be talking to Vintage nature writing classics authors Sean Borodale, Tim Dee and Mark Cocker on why nature writing matters at 7.30 on 27th October in the Norwich forum auditorium as part of the Norwich Science Festival.
